Your number, your relationships
Texts go out from the number your clients already saved — not an unknown short code. Every message lands in your phone's thread, so you can jump in any time.
AI agents, meet SMS
AgenText links your Android phone to your AI agents, so they can send, answer, and follow up on text messages from the number your customers already know — while you stay in control.
to: "+1 (415) 555-0142" body: "Hi Sarah — yes, 412 Maple…"
Why AgenText
Leads text at 10pm. Clients want confirmations, reminders, and quick answers. AgenText lets your AI agents carry that load — through the phone and number you already use.
Texts go out from the number your clients already saved — not an unknown short code. Every message lands in your phone's thread, so you can jump in any time.
Instant lead replies, appointment reminders, confirmations, follow-ups, and review requests — handled around the clock, in seconds, without you touching your phone.
Plug in with a single MCP config block, or use the REST API and signed webhooks. If your agent can call a tool or make an HTTP request, it can text.
The bridge is off until you turn it on. One toggle pauses everything; unlink the phone or revoke an agent's key whenever you want.
How it works
A full-featured SMS app for Android. Set it as your default messaging app — it works just like the one you have today.
Sign in at app.agentext.app, click Link a phone, and scan the QR code. Your phone shows Connected in seconds.
Create an API key and paste the ready-made MCP config into your agent. It can now send, read, and reply to texts.
Use cases
If your business runs on quick replies and follow-ups, an agent with your number is the teammate you've been missing.
Buyers text the agent who replies first. Yours replies in seconds — at dinner, at a showing, or at 2am.
For developers & agent builders
AgenText speaks the protocols agents already use. Connect over MCP for zero-code tool access, or build on the REST API and signed webhooks.

Phone out of signal? Messages wait and send the moment it reconnects.
Follow every text from queued to sent to delivered — or a clear failure reason.
Idempotency keys mean a retrying agent never texts a client twice.
HMAC-signed events, retried with backoff for a full day if your endpoint is down.
Link several devices and SIMs to one workspace and route each message.
Survives reboots, network switches, and a screen that's been off for hours.
Security & control
Giving an agent your number is a big deal. AgenText is designed so you never lose sight — or control — of what it's doing.
Until you flip the API Bridge switch, AgenText Messenger is just a messaging app and never contacts the cloud.
Your phone opens an encrypted connection outward. Nothing on the internet can reach into your device.
Agent-sent messages appear in your normal threads. Read along, or take over the conversation yourself.
Numbers and messages your block rules filter out are never forwarded to your agents.
Pause the bridge, unlink the phone, or revoke a single agent's key — effective immediately.
The Android app is built on the open-source Fossify Messages project, so its code is open to inspection.
The difference
Traditional SMS platforms are great for high-volume broadcasts. AgenText is built for something more personal: conversations from a number people trust.
| AgenText | Traditional SMS API | |
|---|---|---|
| Sending number | The number you already have | A new number you rent |
| What recipients see | You — a saved contact | An unfamiliar number |
| Setup | Install the app, scan a QR code | Buy a number; often register it with carriers |
| When a human steps in | Reply from your phone, same thread | Separate dashboard or inbox |
| Agent integration | MCP tools built in | Usually build your own wrapper |
| Best for | Conversations and follow-ups | High-volume broadcasts |
FAQ
No. That's the point. Your agents text from the number already in your phone, so your clients see a name they know and replies come straight back to you.
AgenText Messenger runs on Android, because it needs to be the phone's default SMS app. Many people use a spare Android phone that stays plugged in at the office as a dedicated line for their agents.
Any agent or framework that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP) over HTTP can use AgenText's tools directly. Anything that can make an HTTP request can use the REST API and receive webhooks — including automation platforms and your own code.
Yes. AgenText Messenger is a complete SMS app. You text as usual, and everything your agents send shows up in the same conversations, so you can read along or reply yourself.
Outgoing messages wait in a queue and are sent automatically when the phone reconnects. Texts that arrive while it's offline are uploaded in order once it's back. The bridge also restarts on its own after a reboot.
Messages go out over your phone's own mobile plan, so your carrier's normal rates apply — for most plans, that means unlimited texting.
AgenText is built for conversations, reminders, and follow-ups with people who expect to hear from you — not bulk promotions. Carriers monitor personal lines for spam-like volume, so always text people who've opted in and honor requests to stop.
Flip the API Bridge switch in the app to pause instantly, or tap Unlink to disconnect for good. From the web portal you can remove a phone or revoke any agent's API key at any time.
Link your phone in minutes and let your agents handle the conversations you don't have time for.
